GTS took part as a strategic partner at Sri Lanka Cyber Games (SLCG)

Each year one major tournament is held for Sri Lankans to engage in a local gaming tournament. In its 2nd installment SLCG wanted not only PC and Xbox games but also to have a mobile game competition involving ‘Colombo Ride 2.0’. A large number of individuals battled it out at the tournament and was able to have an enjoyable time as well as win some prizes.



GTS participates at Games Convention Asia (GCA), Singapore

In less than two years of operation, GTS goes international by showcasing upcoming games to Asia’s only games convention in Singapore. It was an opportunity for GTS to come face to face with industry standard games and a learning curve to improve the quality of games to meet international standards. GTS was able to discuss with industry giants such as EA and other established entities such as IndiaGames for the way forward for Sri Lankan games.

'Colombo Ride 2.0' featured on National television

Rupavahini, the National television of Sri Lanka featured the recently released first Sinhala multiplayer mobile game 'Colombo Ride 2.0'. Here Managing Director of GTS Gihan Fernando along with game developer Janith Amarasinghe speaks about the game along with a history of how it all began.

GTS launches Colombo Ride 2.0

On Independence day of 2009, the second version of the popular history making game Colombo Ride was launched. With two player option the 2nd version was also an instant hit as people flocked to the site to download the game.

Colombo Ride featured on ‘Nena piyasa’ on ITN

‘Nena piyasa’ is a popular television programme aimed at educating students in the field of computing and technology. So it was an honour for the team behind ‘Nena piyasa’ requesting GTS for a whole programme to let the viewers know about what we do in the game development area. Narada the host takes the viewers through the story behind the inception of the first Sinhala mobile game to what is expected in the near future.

GTS wins national award at World Summit Awards (WSA)

GTS was able to win the national award in the category of ‘e-entertainment and games’ with the showcasing of the game ‘Colombo Ride’.

GTS took part in Infotel 2008 held from 31st October to the 2nd November 2008. A number of products of GTS were showcased including the popular mobile game ‘Colombo Ride’. It is fair to say that the GTS stall received the most number of visitors due to the entertaining products and a game competition which was held every 3 hours during the exhibition.

Awards ceremony for winners of Colombo Ride

Similar to the Olympics, it was decided to give bronze, silver and gold medals to the worthy winners of the competition of Colombo Ride. 10 finalists battled it at BMICH and the top 3 received valuable mobile phones and the medals. The other finalists also didn’t go empty handed as they also received valuable gaming equipment.

GTS makes history by creating the first Sinhala mobile game

With less than a year in operation, GTS breaks ground with the launch of a revolutionary mobile game catered towards Sri Lankans. The launch was telecasted live onMaxTV at 8 seconds, 8 minutes pass 8am on the 8th of August 2008 (8-8-8).
